I'm still in shock of how 12 episodes could destroy most of the work made in 190 episodes, and how ep206 killed all the stakes for S3, and now it is in this weird place. I'm still optimistic about this comic, though. The fight scenes and the "battle games" have also lost their uniqueness. The author kept introducing severely way too many new characters, while simultaneously neglecting old beloved ones for way too long. Tower of God was in a bit of a slump in the last two arcs. In fact so much so that I don't understand why there is a season 3. Not only did it drop them, it effectively destroyed any possibility of plausibly using them ever again. It willfully dropped themes and elements it's been setting up since chapter one in favour of one or two money shot scenes like it was some cheap Marvel movie. Lore Olympus fucked itself recently real proper with both the art and the writing. Unholy Blood looked promising, but it got repetitive - here's a stronger enemy than the last, now unlock some new power, smash new enemy to bits in an overwhelming win, rinse and repeat about 7 times until the final enemy is defeated. The end of "Freaking Romance" was also quite a shitshow. It's been a while, but I couldn't even finish Siren's Lament and Devil Number 4. But a while ago she got everything she wanted, most of which was just handed to her, and now it's just dragging on aimlessly and without any sort of storyline. Let's Play used to be funny, endearing, and the MC had goals and struggles and progressed towards them. Webtoon needs to change its whole base system of how authors get incentives and just pay the creators better.Ī lot of the really popular ones for some reason. So the increase in fast pass was all just to give webtoon more money and still not paying the authors as it should. Nope they only get a fraction of it if in fact it bought with money, and if they have enough people engaging. I thought that they would still give some money to the creators irregardless of how things get unlocked. Along with the free coins do more harm than anything for the creators. Even though webtoon promotes binging but that in fact hurts the creators more. It is horrible set up, they get paid based off weekly views and engagement that no one sees but webtoon itself. Sad reality is the more I learn about how webtoon truly is to is creators. They are forced to produce something weekly with very little base pay yet expected to work insane hours (like American teachers) just to keep on spitting out more and more content. I think the deterioration is mostly because webtoon at least gives very little help to its original creators.
